One of the things I made for presents this year was chocolate bark. Last year I did chocolate dipped pretzels so I wanted to try something a bit different but still with chocolate. It's hard to go wrong with a gift of chocolate after all. *g*

'Tis the season of baking! I have two cookie doughs in the freezer all ready to go and two more that I'm going to mix up today. Peach crisp is cooling on the counter, braised short ribs are in the oven, and mashed potatoes are cooking. Last week Chicklet's preschool had a 'dinner with dad' night. We signed up to bring cookies and these where the ones I chose to make. They have a light, soft texture with just a bit of crunch around the edges, and I love the lemony flavor especially at this time of year. I would highly suggest making the icing for these cookies. This morning I made waffles again! Yum! While frozen waffles are tasty, there is nothing like a fresh, yeasted, Belgium waffle for breakfast.
